SOPHIE & RICH

Iron Man Rich and property entrepreneur Sophie

I was really looking forward to Sophie and Rich’s wedding day. I’ve been desperate to Shoot at Brympton House since I spotted another photographers wedding photos from there on Instagram. It looked right up my street; I do love a retired stately home! A few weeks prior to the wedding I booked myself in for a historical tour around the amazing Brympton House in Yeovil. I had such a lovely day exploring the house; finding out all about it’s past residents. The grounds were simply stunning, I wandered around the lake and orchard basking in the warm summers sun; envisaging where I would place my bride and groom for some romantic photos. Unfortunately, when Sophie and Rich’s big day rolled ‘round, Britain was having the worst possible wet weather! Not idea and although I do like to remain positive at all times I was feeling rather challenged by the endless down pour.

“Kerry thank you SOOOOOO MUCH for the amazing photos. Honestly I can’t stop looking at them. Rich loves loves loves the feel of them and we are both so thrilled with what you captured from our day. It means so much to see it all.We can’t thank you enough. Honestly you’re amazing.”

I met the Sophie & Rich at the venue around midday. First I headed across to where Rich and his boys were getting ready, before capturing a few last minute details with Sophie. We all headed across to the chapel in dribs and drabs. The place was beautifully decorated to match the very beautiful bride. Rich’s eyes lit up when Sophie walked down the aisle with her dad. One of my favourite things about this wedding was Rich and his twin brother (also the best man). Their very expressive faces made for some great shots! Sophie had two beautiful bridesmaids, and a truly stunning little flower girl, Molly. She did a great job of spreading the petals across the aisle! Molly is making her modelling debut in Bride magazine this week after the editor found a photo of her showing off her wonderful head dress on my Instagram.
Sadly, there was no confetti throw due to the wet weather, so guests made their way to The Great Hall for canapés. Despite the rain, we headed outside with a few guests and headed for the shelter of the arches to take some group photos. This was quite challenging in the rain, but slowly we managed to get through most of our list. Afterward the group photos and some romantic shots of the happy couple we hurried back inside for the newlyweds to cut their very castle themed wedding cake. After the cake cutting, we made our way upstairs to the beautiful dining room. Speeches were given by Rich’s brother and best man, and Sophie’s dad. Then, all of a sudden, somebody (very loudly) dropped a tonne of cutlery and… in come the singing waitresses! All of the guests, myself included, enjoyed this incredible performance. It was definitely something to remember. After everyone was fed, we headed across to the stables for some dancing and marshmallows around the fire pit. Luckily, we were blessed with the most amazing dry and clear night’s sky to end the day.
