LINDA & STEVEN

At the beginning of October I had the delight of shooting Linda and Stevens Bath wedding. A plan of action was arranged over a coffee a few days before the wedding. We decided on documentary coverage of the day, with an extended portrait session. The couple chose Bath in autumn as their destination for tying the knot, as Linda and Steven met whilst studying economics at university here.

The day commenced in a boutique holiday let in Bath city centre, where Linda’s family and Steven stayed the night before. Once Steven and Linda were both looking gorgeous the couple got their first glance at each other arranged outside a quirky antiques store around the corner. Then Linda and her father headed off in a posh old car together, where we met again at Widcombe Baptist Church.

Escorted by her father, Linda glided down the aisle looking as stunning as a china doll where eventually she was given away to Steven; the perfect gentleman. The ceremony was packed with uni friends; important guests included Linda’s ‘English family’ who took care of her whilst she studied here some years ago. Sadly Stevens family couldn’t make it, but surprise video messages were played for the couple from their closest people in China. Bringing tears to all of our eyes it created a beautifully emotional ceremony.

I am so lucky to have Kerry as my wedding photographer. She is amazing, very professional and thoughtful. We had a lovely coffee chat before the wedding and went through all the details. She helped us a lot on making the schedule right on the day and had loads great ideas of taking great pictures. Kerry is really good at capturing the natural emotions of people and use the natural light perfectly. Last but not least, thank you so much Kerry!

Linda & Steven

Then we headed off for the portrait shoot consisting of a walk around Victoria Park and the Royal Crescent. The autumn afternoon glowed a myriad of ambers and reds under the casting honey of the sun. It made the perfect golden hour for a portrait shoot of the overjoyed couple and their bridal party.

Typically the Roman Baths held the evening ‘do,’ with drinks and canapés for guests around the still waters, which also set the perfect scene for romantic photos by twilight. The Terrace at The Roman Baths hosted a delicious feast, followed by a cake and dancing in the Reception Hall. The first dance was crazy, I’m not sure what song was played but something resembling gangman style! Everybody was invited to join the Chinese dance, even myself! I’m very grateful to Linda and Steven for having me at their wedding day, I think I’ve made some special friends for life.
