Clevedon Hall in Somerset: Your Perfect Wedding Venue
If it’s been the dream to get married in a grand mansion, then I have just the venue for you to swoon over today. I’m talking all about why you should choose Clevedon Hall in Somerset for your perfect wedding venue.
About Clevedon Hall
This Jacobean-style mansion house, built in 1852, can be found in the North Somerset countryside nestled into 17 acres of glorious grounds. The house has a lot of history. It was built for a local and renowned industrialist and survived several generations as a residence before becoming the offices for the Bristol Aeroplane Company and, later, a girls boarding school. It’s been a popular wedding venue since 2010.
Clevedon Hall is easily accessible from Bristol, which also makes it very local to me, meaning there’s very little chance of me getting stuck in traffic on the day of your wedding. Bonus!
An Exclusive Venue
Clevedon Hall is not a hotel which means when you hire it for your big day, you’re getting the whole place to yourself with no chance of being overlooked or interrupted by other guests. That’s a lot of house and grounds to yourself, but I’m sure we’ll make plenty of use of the space, especially when it comes to finding beautiful backdrops for your photos!
The venue has 25 bedrooms, which means some of your guests can stay for the night, saving them from having to find taxis and hotels for their stay. And for you, the newly married couple, there’s a private cottage on the grounds to stay in.
A Perfect Wedding Reception
For those that choose to marry here, there’s the gazebo in the garden for those sunny, dry days. Or, when the weather isn’t playing, the Orangery serves as your ceremony space.
But if you’re just booking Clevedon Hall for your post-ceremony shenanigans, the Orangery is where you’ll head for your sit-down meal.
Clevedon Hall has a beautiful garden where you can gather for your reception drinks and canapes, and there’s a barbecue overlooking the lawn and lake for something a little less formal (or for the evening guests, maybe!). But the Orangery is really spectacular and, with space for 150 guests, you’ll have no trouble fitting everyone in to enjoy good food and speeches (hopefully!). Did I mention how good the food is? This venue has a Michelin Star-trained chef so you know the food will be amazing!
Photos at Clevedon Hall
With more than two acres of stunning gardens, an incredible wildflower meadow, and a private lake and tree-lined driveway, there’s plenty of scope for various stunning locations where we can disappear off for a little while to get some gorgeous photos of the two of you. Plus, you get to have a little breather and enjoy the fact that you just got married!
I also particularly loved the stunning swing seat hanging from a tree on the grounds, a favourite with the kids and plenty of opportunities for me to get some lovely photographs there too.
And when you head into the house, there really are some incredible rooms and backdrops where we can have a little fun with some photos of the two of you. If stately mansions, grandeur and to-die-for decor is your bag, we’ll have a lot of fun getting some great shots of you both inside the house—which is always good, especially if the weather isn’t up to much outside.
The Evening Reception
And when all the fancy photography has been done, you get to head back to your friends and family and join them in the Great Hall for your evening reception while I carry on capturing everything as it happens. Clevedon Hall has thought of everything here. They’ve got a stunning area for dancing to your favourite tunes, a separate bar area, and there’s even a drawing room for those guests who want a little bit of a break from all the partying and celebrations to relax and catch up with each other.
Why choose me to capture your day
Capturing wedding photographs at Clevedon Hall is definitely something I thoroughly enjoyed doing and I’d love every chance to get back there again. So, if you’re looking for a wedding photographer for your Clevedon Hall wedding, get in touch! I’d love to hear all about your plans!
