Blue eyed Tom & and handsome husband Jonathan
Jonathan and Tom spotted my wedding photography at Jonathan’s parents beautiful villa hotel, in Radford, near Bath. I had left a wedding brochure there after shooting another wedding a couple of months earlier. After booking me the pressure was on, as Jonathan revealed that he was a photography teacher and Tom was an ex- wedding photographer!
The boys accompanied by their close family arrived at The Roman Baths from the countryside bright and breezy at 7.30am. Thankfully we were blessed with dry sunny weather, which is scarce in July!
On arrival at the Baths the couple met Graham the registrar, who likes to think of himself a bit of a comedian! He kept the ceremony short, with lovely speeches from ‘Nan,’ and Jonathan’s sister Hannah. A few tears were shed and a grand applause congratulated the boys’ first kiss as a married couple. After the signing of the register, I organised a group photo with the help of my trusty megaphone, followed by a couple of shots of Jonathan and Tom alone whilst the guests toasted with Buck’s Fizz in hands. The newly-weds left The Roman Baths married into a cloud of confetti!
A classic English breakfast at Bills Bar was next; this is where I left the couple and my story ends. The family continued the celebrations back at Jonathan’s parents home. It was lovely to have a short wedding in July at The Roman Baths, I’ll look forward to having another wedding there in December, next time it’s an evening candle lit ceremony just after Christmas, so should be very romantic!
