AARON & STEPH
I arrived at primary school teachers Steph and Aaron’s house on a typically grey Wednesday in July. Here I found the bride, Steph, bridesmaid and friend of 20 years, Becky, Steph’s two nieces and flower girls in the midst of getting ready. Hair and makeup took a bit longer than expected, which meant Steph was running late, with an hour’s drive to the church! Oblivious to what was going on, my friend and 2nd photographer Betty photographed the boys getting ready at Aaron’s parents house. Poor Aaron was relieved when Steph finally arrived at Christ Church in Hanham. Luckily there was a wonderful choir to entertain the guests whilst they patiently waited for the brides arrival.

All was well when Steph walked down the aisle with her Dad in her beautiful wedding gown from Lace and Grace Bridal. Steph looked glad to see Aaron too, looking handsome as ever. The ceremony was lovely, and Steph’s brothers gave readings written by the children from Steph and Aaron’s classes. Aaron’s dad Richard also gave a beautiful reading.
With no surprise, it started to rain after the ceremony. There was just time for some quick group photos and a confetti throw before Steph & Aaron were whisked off in a vintage camper van to the wedding reception. The guest dashed off grabbing a bag of crisps from a thoughtful basket of tucker for the car journey to Coombe Lodge in Blagdon.
Due to the wet weather, I took advantage of the stunning doorways and arches for some photos while guests settled down inside. The venue looked stunning as Steph really got involved with the decorating. The table decorations were perfect, set upon logs made by Steph’s cousin James. While guests waited for food, a magician entertained. After dinner, there were some emotional speeches from Steph’s mum & dad and Aaron’s brothers before they hosted a game of Mr and Mrs.
Guests tucked into doughnut rings before the bride & groom cut their beautiful wedding cake made by Aaron’s mum. The band ‘Gentlemen of the Road’ got the party started just as the rain died off, so I managed to sneak the newlyweds away to get a few romantic shots before I headed home.
