EMMA & STEVE

  Elegant Emma & Super Steve

It was just a month ago that the lovely Emma and Steve came together with all their friends and family and said their I do’s at Elmhay Park, a beautiful newly branded wedding venue in its own right on the grounds of Orchardleigh Estate, just outside of Frome in Somerset. For those of you that remember, Elmhay Park was formerly known as the Walled Garden at Orchardleigh.

Ahhhh Somerset, the land where people “talk funny”. In actual fact, Emma and I grew up in the same village, so we were delighted to be able to speak Somerset to one another. In a far more refined manner, of course. I also knew Emma through her sister, who was a friend of mine at university. I just love having a personal connection with the couple – I think it helps them to feel a little more comfortable with having me there on their big day. Hopefully, Emma and Steve’s photographs are everything they wanted. I feel they really show the beauty of the day and the emotion of this couple throughout.

Emma and Steve first met a few years ago at their local pub and it was love at first sight over the local ales and ciders. They partied hard together that first night and they have been inseparable ever since.

I started coverage with Steve and the boys at the couple’s new home early that morning. As they all got dressed in their suave suits and bow ties, there was definitely an air of 007 about the house. I especially loved seeing the card Emma had sent to Steve that morning with the most adorable sign off… ‘Love you millions!’ The added detail of Emma and Steve’s initials with their wedding date printed neatly inside Steve’s jacket was a wonderful touch too. Once the boys were all dressed and ready to go, I followed them down to Elmhay Park, where I headed to The Bell Tower, the luxury suite where Emma was getting ready.

You were, gods honest truth the only supplier that I’ve had no stress over with worry about the result- and thats coming from a massive control freak! Thank you again x

EMMA

Elmhay Park is a stunning Victorian walled garden on the grounds of Orchardleigh Estate in the heart of the Somerset countryside. With its beautiful red-bricked Orangery, the partially covered Italian Garden and the twelve self-catering cottages in an area known as ‘The Village’ on site at the rear of the Orangery, this venue has absolutely everything you could need to celebrate your wedding day. What’s great is Elmhay Park have some prepared packages, but you can also dry hire the venue too. Whatever your preference, the guys at Elmhay Park guarantee you exclusivity so the whole place is yours all day.

Emma and the girls were being fully pampered by Danielle, doing makeup, and Lucy doing hair. Flowers and buttonholes were gorgeously crafted by The Lily Locket. I loved the ‘BRIDE’ balloons in Emma’s room. They certainly made for some fun shots. When Emma was ready, she came outside for the first look with Dad who got all emotional. But he looked incredibly proud as he walked Emma down the aisle of the outdoor ceremony they had in the Italian Garden. The vows were also a really emotional moment. Emma held it together right up until that point, bless her! But it’s always lovely to capture happy tears no matter what you look like at the time.

After their moving ceremony, Emma and Steve and all their guests got to enjoy reception drinks and canapés to the sounds of the harp being played on the Orangery terrace. It was a beautifully sunny day and perfect weather for this April wedding. Later, there were more tears of happiness during the speeches and a fun moment with some false teeth which still makes me chuckle now. Once the tables had been cleared away, this awesome couple had some fun cutting into the glorious four tiered cake that looked far too good to eat, before hitting the dancefloor and boogying the night away to an awesome band that I am always happy to recommend, The Jacks!

I’m sure you’ll agree what a gorgeous couple Emma and Steve make and their wedding at Elmhay Park was a truly stunning one. I’m thrilled to have captured one of the first weddings under its new branding and I’m sure there will be many more amazing days there in the future.

All that’s left to say is congratulations, Mr and Mrs Baker!
