As part of the local village tradition’s, the Morris Dancers of Priston gathered on the top of Priest Barrow hill at dawn this year to celebrate May Day. Sadly, considering the advancing years of the Morris men, and no new additions to the group, it was their last dance together. For 40 years the group have danced in festivities for the pagan Anglo-Saxon custom’s of May Day. Celebrating the first day of summer; adorned in their vibrant colours and jingling bells, the sunrise was one which gave a spectacularly beautiful setting for the photographs I took of them.
