CHRIS & ABBY
I was really excited to get this years wedding season started, Chris and Abby’s wedding was at Priston Mill which just happens to be the venue which is right on my doorstep. I love shooting weddings here. It really feels as though I’m on home turf. I’m familiar with the light, the landscape and the major bonus; there’s no possibility of getting lost on the way home!
Abby and her girls started the day at the new Melanie Giles salon in Bradford on Avon. What a stunning place to get ready – the upper floor is perfect for bridal prep and has its own floral arch and model chapel. The ladies were treated like royalty. Croissants and coffee to start whilst having their hair curled and make up applied, followed by champers and chocolates.
Meanwhile I believe Chris and his boys were enjoying a fried breakfast before getting ready and adding the finishing touches to the Watermill. There was a rustic quality about the mill. Decked in gorgeous fresh flowers, it looked absolutely stunning. The naked wedding cake oozed fresh cream and definitely deserves a mention.
Abby arrived at the Mill escorted by her very proud father and looked amazing. If I knew anything about wedding dresses I would tell you all about it but I don’t so all I can say is it was long, lacy and hugged Abby’s stunning figure to perfection!
The ceremony was followed by champagne and canapés and an opportunity for us to take a short walk around the mill for some nice romantics shots. Spring had not yet sprung so we had to be a little creative. Things can look rather bleak at this time of year, but the combination of my creativity and Chris and Abby’s good looks we pulled it off and made some jolly decent photos for the album.
Thanks to Chris and Abby for choosing me as your wedding photographer, it was an absolute pleasure to capture your beautiful day. It was great to be surrounded by so many local folk who speak with my native Somerset accent! And huge thanks for providing the Tall Long Legged Bird with A 5 star lunch.
