18 months ago after shooting Amy William’s wedding I had an enquiry from Martha, whose mother had admired Amy’s photos having previously taught her art at school. Martha would marry to James in November at Priston Mill, one of my favourite destinations to shoot a wedding in the autumn months.

I arrived at Martha’s childhood home, where her mother currently lives in Oldfield Park Bath to spend the morning shooting the bridal party. They were being done up by make up artist and hair dresser, to look beautiful for the special day. A proud tom-boy, natural beauty Martha scrubbed up to look stunning. As did her bridesmaids wearing deep, rusty, ember dresses adorned with fur shrugs.

The intimate ceremony was held at Priston Water Mill, where Martha arrived fashionably late, for her father to give her to the handsome James, whom co-ordinated perfectly with the autumnal theme. The little page boy and flower girl, wearing a beautiful dress Martha’s sister designed & made, were adorable. They were so eager to make it down the aisle that they forgot to throw their petals! There was a special reading from Martha’s sister followed by a whirling storm of confetti welcoming the couple to the clear blue skies of their unforgettable day.

The Watermills gardens; radiating all the warmth of an English autumn, provided the most idyllic setting for a celebration involving drinks, canapé’s and photos. Later, as evening fell outside, a banquet was served inside, followed by sparklers to celebrate the 5th of November! Martha and James’ wedding drew to an end after the cake was cut and dance moves were exhausted. I’d like to thank them both for allowing me to be a part of their special day in Priston; a place close to my heart and home.
