Finally, the day arrived for Claire & Zara’s engagement shoot. I must admit I was feeling less than inspired when I looked out of my window to find a drizzly morning especially after experiencing a heat wave the previous week. Luckily Claire & Zara had more faith in the weather, and we kept to our plan. We met at The Pony & Trap in Chew Magna early evening to chat about the wedding plans and take some photos in the surrounding countryside. By the time we arrived the sun was out, and the fields were drenched in beautiful evening sunlight. I always get lucky with the light and this evening was no exception!
“Earlier on in the day Claire & Zara had their hair and make up trial in preparation for the wedding day. They were still looking radiant (as always) and it was a good test to see how much ruff and tumble the hairdos could take!”
After catching up on the latest wedding plans, I saddled up with the camera gear, and we headed out into the nearby fields. The ladies soon got into the swing of things and had a whale of a time rolling around in the wheat, or maybe it was corn.
We jumped some gates, Claire attempted to catch butterflies, Zara practised her yoga moves, and I crawled around on my knees, as usual, trying to get a decent angle. I think between us we managed to capture some natural moments showing the ladies love for each other.
We then headed to Claire & Zara’s chosen wedding venue; Folly Farm. The Farm is set in the most beautiful nature reserve surrounded by woodland between Bristol & Bath. The farm looks like an idyllic venue to shoot at; with an incredible view of the Mendip Hills and Chew Valley Lake in the distance.
I can’t wait to be part of Claire & Zara’s day, which will be my first wedding at Folly Farm.
We have just looked at these….. we love them!!! Thank you! Some very funny ones which had us in stitches and some lovely ones that us swooning at each other!
