SIMON & CARLY
Gorgeous Carly & her handsome hubby Simon.
Even though I’ve photographed this venue many times before, I loved going back there with Mr & Mrs Hodkinson! After meeting Simon, Carly and their beautiful golden cocker spaniel Brambles at their engagement shoot, we bonded over our love for dogs and got to know one another. So on the cloudy but bright Spring morning that was Carly and Simon’s big day, I was excited to see what the day ahead would bring for this fantastic couple.
I met Carly at her and Simon’s stunning new house where all of her 7 bridesmaids were getting ready. While everyone was sprucing up, I wandered around documenting the excitement, the getting ready and the baby faces. One of Carly’s bridesmaids also had recently had a baby so there was plenty to photograph!

“Thank you so so much for the pictures they are absolutely amazing and everyone is loving them! Such a nice documentation of the wedding and memories we will now have forever.”

Once Carly was in her dress, I headed across to meet the boys at The George Inn, the oldest pub in England, in the village of Norton St Philip. When I arrived, the champagne was already flowing and we took the opportunity to do some group shots before it was time to make our way to Wick Farm.
When I arrived, the guests were already seated, but I got to hang around with the beautiful bridesmaids while we were waiting for the bride. It was here that I noticed how beautiful the bouquets that were, and found out that the flowers were Carly’s friend’s debut. The bride arrived shortly after with her Dad in his new prized possession, a Land Rover Defender. Tip to all Fathers of the Bride – if you’re ever going to get your dream car, your daughter’s wedding is a great excuse!
The venue looked stunning as Carly walked down the aisle and was given away by her Dad. Simon got pretty emotional at this point! The ceremony was lovely, and when the knot was officially tied, everyone took to the bar for canapes as unfortunately, the rain started to pour.
Once the weather cleared, we headed outside for some group and romantic pictures. I absolutely loved our romantic shoot – we had dedicated a whole 15 minutes to it which was the perfect amount of time.
Back inside, the room was being decked out in beautiful greenery and ivory roses, and was looking breathtaking for the wedding breakfast. After taking some shots of the room before everyone was seated, I got to put my feet up and have a bit of a rest before the speeches. The speeches were in the usual format, but I have to say, I’ll give the best man, Chris, top marks! His speech was spot on and he controlled the day impeccably with the help of my bicycle horn! Giving me more time to photograph those natural moments.
After the cake was cut and the first dance danced, we went outside to get some couple shots under the twinkling arch. I thought it would be nice to get some romantic and fun shots of not just the bride and groom, but the guests too. While I was packing away my equipment – a slightly tipsy Chris decided to get the sparklers out. Luckily, this didn’t end in tears and the evening ended with a romantic kiss under the fairy lights for the newlyweds.

“Wow! We love them. Absolutely speechless. Thank you so much. Couldn’t be happier.”
